June 25-29, 2025
Join Martha in Madison for a clinical power-up getaway
An all-inclusive training retreat designed to nurture you,
expand your community, and
empower you to make real change for your clients
Let's Meet in Madison!
For the past year, I’ve been imagining and planning something special, and I’m finally ready to share it with you.Â
Most of my trainings focus on either working with sex issues and desire discrepancy or on consensual non-monogamies. Now I'd like to integrate the essential methods that underlie everything I do. This will be a deep dive into making relational therapy interventions land.
I’ve spent years now consulting for highly experienced therapists – and I’ve put a lot of thought into where even these truly excellent practitioners get stuck. At the same time, I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of playful approaches to loosen up psychic logjams and make change accessible.Â
I’m bringing together these insights in my first-ever retreat: a lush in-person learning experience designed to help therapists become truly effective changemakers.
Experiential Learning
Roleplay your toughest clients with me and experience my therapeutic process first-hand. Then turn around and practice applying the techniques yourself in a playful, supportive atmosphere.Â
You’re already working hard enough. Together, we’ll discover how to create more change with less effort. How do you slow down when a client is speeding up? When is it better to lead, and when to follow? How do you make that goal-setting intervention really land? Let’s get creative and uncover new ways to use powerful interventions, like chair work, goal setting, and the I/I process.Â
Our main focus will be on process: making the relational work more effective.
A Nurturing MissionÂ
Therapy conferences need a serious redesign. Less powerpoint, and more creativity. More recharge and inspiration. A little fresh air. Space to have deep conversations with fascinating colleagues. Interesting and energizing locations with no details to worry about. Maybe a new friend or two. And, of course, some new clinical skills that make the work easier, more fun, and more effective.Â
We spend much of our time isolated in our offices, doing impossibly hard work. This retreat is designed to bring relief from the stress and nurture you, professionally and personally.Â
Expect a deep learning immersion in a beautiful setting, with carefully curated local experiences to unwind, and a thoughtful approach to fostering connection – while still respecting the introverts among us.
